"You know, I
feel that Gerry Levene & The Avengers have never been given enough
credit for the part they played in the start of Brum's 60's music
scene. They were one of the first bands to be gigging in and around
the Manchester & Liverpool areas during the start of the Liverpool
boom, working with such greats as The Beatles, The Searchers etc.,
long before many of us other Brummie bands. He was also one of the
first performers to have the guts to wear a silly lame suit!! Sorry
Gerry, but the girls loved it! We had many good times working together over the years and Gerry will be missed both from the music scene, but also for being a great friend to many. One of the best. You will always be fondly remembered.
